Request deletion
Deletion requests are made from inside the app so we can verify that the request comes from the account holder. Sign in, then open Settings and choose Delete account.
Sign in to continueIf you cannot sign in, contact us using the address in the Privacy Policy and we will verify your identity another way. For your protection we do not confirm whether an email address has an account before that verification.
What is removed
- Your access to In My Care, on every device
- Your account profile: name, photo, phone number and relationship
- Your notification and reminder settings
- Your active care-circle memberships
- Private uploads that only you own, where they are not part of a care record
What must be retained
A care record belongs to the care circle, not only to the person who typed it. Deleting your account does not erase the following, because other members and, in some cases, the law rely on them:
- Medication administration history
- Health readings
- Observations and incident records
- Doctor visits and follow-ups
- Care-plan approvals and change requests
- Expenses, receipts and reimbursements
- Consent and authority records
- Access-control and audit history
Where these are kept, your name is replaced with Former member and unnecessary personal details are removed. Retained information is not used for any other purpose.
Leaving a care circle instead of deleting
If you only want to stop being part of one family's care circle, leave that circle instead. Your account stays, and you keep access to any other circles. Both options are in Settings, and neither is hidden behind the other.
If you are the only coordinator
If you are the only person responsible for a care circle, we will pause your request and ask you to appoint another coordinator or family admin first. This protects the person being cared for from being left without anyone able to manage their record.
How long it takes
Requests are reviewed and processed by the operator. You will be told the outcome, and you can cancel the request while it is still open. Deleted information may remain in protected backups for a limited period before those backups are cycled. The exact processing period and backup cycle are set out in the Data Retention Summary once approved.
